Untitled 2.jpg

I started recording music after I received a terrible, unexpected phone call.

For nearly two decades I worked as a public defender and a fifth grade teacher in the Bronx. I spent my nights and weekends songwriting and performing in coffeeshops and at open mics. But I felt no urgency about recording my music until March 2, 2019, when I was visiting a friend in Minnesota.

As the bright morning sun reflected off the freshly fallen snow outside, I answered a call on my cell phone from an unfamiliar number. I suddenly learned that my best friend from high school, a respected and creative filmmaker, had just died. It was devastating.

I suppose a part of me already knew how uncertain life can be, but this was the moment I realized how quickly the clock is ticking. I resolved to get my music out to the world — no excuses. Five months later I was in the studio with a band, starting to record my way through my backlog of songs (and some new ones).

Since then, I’ve been releasing a song just about every month. It’s been really gratifying to hear from people who connect with my music. And it’s a direct relationship between me and you. There’s no label, manager, or publicist. I write my own songs, record and edit my own videos, design my own artwork, send every email, and respond to every comment myself.

Thanks for checking things out and feel free to drop me a line!
